Clarksville Affiliate Legislative Lunch

Chris Harvey

Spetember 11, 2025

11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Join us for our September 11th Member Meeting featuring guest speaker Chris Harvey, VP of Agency Training & Development. Chris will share “The Secret Sauce? It’s Still Professional Development!”—an insightful look at how ongoing growth and learning remain the key ingredients to success.

About Our Speaker:
Chris Harvey is the Vice President of Agency Training and Development at Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee, where he leads with the belief that professional development isn't a perk—it's a responsibility. He began his career with Farm Bureau in 2013 as an Agent in Clarksville, TN,  moved into leadership as Assistant Vice President from 2022 to 2024, and now oversees training initiatives across the state of Tennessee that equip agents & agencies to grow in skill, purpose, and impact.

A 2009 graduate of Austin Peay State University with a BBA in Finance, Chris understands the demands and opportunities of a career in insurance. His message to fellow professionals is clear: growth is what separates good agents from great ones, and great organizations from average ones. Quoting Babe Ruth, he often reminds others that, “Yesterday’s home runs don’t win today’s games.”

Chris is motivated by a sense of calling—not just to lead, but to serve. His faith is central to how he approaches work, family, and leadership. He’s been married to his wife Kelsey for 14 years, and together they’re raising two sons. When he's not coaching agents, you’ll find him coaching youth baseball or basketball, investing in the next generation both on and off the field.

Knoxville Affiliate Legislative Meeting

It is LEGISLATIVE TIME IN KNOXVILLE, TN.

NAIFA’s Advocacy: Unmatched Influence at Every Level of Government:

NAIFA’s advocacy strategy is comprehensive, coordinated, and rooted at the federal, interstate, and state levels. No other association matches NAIFA’s reach, relationships, or results when it comes to protecting financial professionals and the clients they serve.

FEDERAL:
NAIFA is the only association representing the full spectrum of financial service professionals with a seat at every table in Washington. From risk protection to retirement planning, our advocacy shapes the policies that define our industry’s future. We engage all three branches of the federal government: legislatively, through our industry-leading PAC, direct grassroots contact with all 535 members of Congress, and Congressional Conference; executively, by influencing regulatory rulemaking; and judicially, by defending our members’ interests through federal litigation when needed.

INTERSTATE:
NAIFA is actively involved with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) long before policies become law. We serve on key working groups and subcommittees, provide expert testimony, and submit detailed comment letters to shape model legislation at its earliest stages.

STATE:
NAIFA is the only producers’ association with a consistent presence in all 50 states. Our state chapters, 50 PACs, and grassroots leaders ensure we have a voice in every statehouse. From State Legislative Days to regulatory roundtables, NAIFA drives engagement where it matters most. Our decades-long relationships with state officials, many of whom go on to serve in Congress, further strengthen our national influence.

Learn more in the Annual State of NAIFA Advocacy report (State of Advocacy should be a link - https://advocacy.naifa.org/state-of-advocacy)

We are very fortunate that the Legislators at all levels in our area take their time to come and speak to us regarding issues that affect our industry and our lives. Come join us and get to speak to them one on one at our September 12th NAIFA-TENNESSEE KNOXVILLE LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON!
