Come join your fellow NAIFA-Memphis/West TN members and the rest of the Memphis pickleball community for the 3rd Annual Pickleball Tournament, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Camp Good Grief. The tournament will be on Saturday, August 1st, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm at Pickleball Kingdom.

Estate Planning has been a hot topic over the last year.  The sunsetting tax law threatened to bring the lifetime exemption back to $5 million plus an inflation factor, but OBBBA changed the rules again.  Come to this meeting for a discussion of the recent changes and learn about steps that every client should take regardless of their net worth.  This is being presented by David Hayward, Sr. Advanced Sales Specialist at National Life and Josh Tillman, Partner at Cook Tillman Law Group.

Dealing with individuals and families with disability and their special needs.

Treadway discusses the importance of advocacy and support for special needs individuals and their families, drawing from her personal experience as a special needs parent. She highlights the challenges she faced in finding resources and support for her child. The Arc offers various programs and events to help individuals with special needs connect with others and develop social skills. They also prioritize employment opportunities for these individuals by working with businesses to create inclusive and accommodating work environments. As insurance and financial professionals, we may work with a person or a family who is impacted by an intellectual or developmental disability. This meeting will give us an inside look at what families and individuals with disabilities have to deal with on a daily basis. This will help us to be better prepared to serve our clients and their families. Plus, we will know what other resources are available for our clients and their families.

Chris Harvey is the Vice President of Agency Training and Development at Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee, where he leads with the belief that professional development isn't a perk—it's a responsibility. He began his career with Farm Bureau in 2013 as an Agent in Clarksville, TN,  moved into leadership as Assistant Vice President from 2022 to 2024, and now oversees training initiatives across the state of Tennessee that equip agents & agencies to grow in skill, purpose, and impact.

A 2009 graduate of Austin Peay State University with a BBA in Finance, Chris understands the demands and opportunities of a career in insurance. His message to fellow professionals is clear: growth is what separates good agents from great ones, and great organizations from average ones. Quoting Babe Ruth, he often reminds others that, “Yesterday’s home runs don’t win today’s games.”

Chris is motivated by a sense of calling—not just to lead, but to serve. His faith is central to how he approaches work, family, and leadership. Bill Huddleston was appointed as Assistant Commissioner for the Division of Insurance in January 2021. A Commerce & Insurance team member since 2014, Mr. Huddleston previously served as the Director of Insurance where he oversaw the division’s administration which includes agent licensing, company examinations, company financial analysis, and other duties. A certified public accountant, Huddleston also served as Receivership Director in the Insurance Division. In 2017, he was a recipient of a Governor’s Excellence in Service Award for his leadership in the Division of Regulatory Boards. Prior to joining Commerce & Insurance, Mr. Huddleston served as a legislative auditor with the Office of the Comptroller of the Treasury. A Nashville native, Huddleston is a graduate of Lipscomb University as well as Harding University.
